Meeting My Guide for Play
My mom’s brother - my uncle - Neil passed away on June 15, 1969 - more than ten years before I was born.
Neil was five when he drowned accidentally while playing with other kids at the local river. He would have started school the following September but he told my grandma (his mom) that he knew he wouldn’t be going to school.
Through all the stories my family has shared with me, I know this little boy was extremely special. I know he came into a family that needed healing and provided some of that in his short time on earth.
When I was younger he would show up in my dreams and meditations. I told my mom and it brought her comfort. I even painted a portrait of him in high school. When I was 17 I visited my first medium, she started with ‘Neil has a message for you. . .’
But by my early 20s I had pushed that connection away. While I never stopped believing in mediumship and connection to Spirit, I refused to acknowledge that I was able to do it. I convinced myself that I had made up my visits from Neil and worked hard to be ‘normal.’
Here I am, nearly twenty years later and finding my path again (although, I don’t believe we are ever off our path, just taking learning detours - like studying abroad for a semester) and Neil is still with me.
I recently had another reading and he came through. I was told that when my inner child is triggered he comes and sits with me, that he is with me even when no one else knows something is wrong, and that he will always be with me.
She described him as adventurous and running free in the forest (which is how we both spent our childhoods in the same small town but decades apart) and said that he is my guide for fun.
What a stunning discovery since I started connecting with him when I was a child and have reconnected as an adult who needs to learn how to play.
I’m so grateful for this full circle gift!
